Service and Therapy Dogs

Do you have a health-related issue or disability and require the use of a service dog but think you can’t afford it? Have you spent years on a waiting list only to be left wondering if you’ll ever get the canine help you need to live a fuller or more independent life? A service dog might be a lot more possible than you think!

  • Assess: Let us assess your needs and identify the type of dog we think would best suit your individual lifestyle. We have trained a wide spectrum of service dogs, from seizure response/alert dogs to dogs providing support for people with mobility impairments.
  • Evaluate: Whether you are looking to adopt a dog for the purpose of service work or train a family pet, we can provide an in-depth evaluation and provide our recommendations. It’s true that not every dog is cut out to be a service dog, but most dogs do actually have what it takes (even if you can’t see it now).
  • Train: We will customize a training plan that will suit your lifestyle and budget and get you moving forward on the path to greater mobility or freedom! Are you concerned about the cost? Did you know that many insurance companies will pay some or all of the costs of service dogs?  Call your insurance provider to inquire about their policy.

Do you have a desire to use your dog to bring joy to others’ lives? Do you want to take your dog into hospitals, senior centers, assisted living centers or a host of other places serving our community? Consider getting your dog a nationally-recognized Therapy Dog certification!  Redefined is available to help you through this process. Whether your dog needs to learn the full range of required obedience commands or needs help refining its behaviors, we can support you in this very worthwhile endeavor.

The Canine Good Citizen (CGC) title is given through the American Kennel Club. The CGC title is rewards responsible dog ownership and is designed to recognize dogs that have good manners at home and in the community.  All dogs who pass the 10-step test receive a certificate from the American Kennel Club. Let Redefined Dog Training help prepare your dog to pass this nationally recognized test!
